UK lightweight superstar Amir Khan (17-0, 13KOs) is lining up the toughest fight of his career against former WBA junior welterweight champion Gavin Rees (27-1, 13KOs) who will move down in weight to meet Khan at 135-pounds. BBC Sport reports that a potential fight between Khan and Rees is slated for September.

Rees pulled off a major upset last June by decisioning Souleymane M'Baye to capture the WBA strap. In his first defense against the much stronger Andreas Kotelnik, Rees was battered and stopped in the twelfth-round. Khan had eyed a Rees bout prior to the Kotelnik loss.
