At the Mile High Event Center in Denver, undefeated junior welterweight Mike Alvarado (25-0, 18 KOs) stopped Emmanuel Clottey (24-9, 14 KOs) with a vicious right hook with less than ten seconds remaining in the tenth round. Alvarado will return to action on the May 2 undercard to Manny Pacquiao vs. Ricky Hatton at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

After chasing Clottey around for nine rounds, Alvarado jumped on Clottey with less than ten seconds left in the tenth and put him down for at least three minutes. It was Alvarado's eighth consecutive knockout.

"Once I saw how he fell, I knew he was out for good," said Alvarado to the Denver Post. "I guess we have something for the highlight reel. I was cutting him off with footwork, throwing one-twos down his pipe. Once the 10-second bell hit, I jumped on him for a knockout."
