At the First Council Casino in Newkirk, Oklahoma, super middleweight Allan Green (29-1, 20KOs) won a ten round decision over previously undefeated Tarvis Simms (25-1-1, 11KOs). The scores were 98-92, 99-91 and 97-93.
Green pressed the action in the first, throwing some hard shots off the jab. Green pressed the action for the next few rounds but not as much as you would expect. Simms went southpaw in the middle rounds, causing some issues for Green to land clean punches. Simms started to put some punches together in the sixth round.
Green came back in the seventh, back to pressing the action and landing. In the eight, the two of them were trading punches as Green was pinned against the ropes by Simms. Green caught Simms with a big hook in the final seconds. Green came out with some heavy punches in the ninth. He had Simms stumbling around. Green continued to use his advatage in power during the tenth but Simms was never in serious trouble.
