Don’t miss undefeated prospect Alfredo Angulo (11-0, eight KOs), who looks to continue making a name for himself in the junior middleweight division, when he battles the dangerous Ricardo Cortes (22-1, 15 KOs) Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, on ShoBox: The New Generation (live on SHOWTIME at 11 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the west coast).  The 25-year-old, Mexican-born Angulo has had success in his last two fights on SHOWTIME, but he will need to dig deep into his bag of tricks if he plans on keeping his unblemished record intact against the 27-year-old Cortes of San Jose, Calif., by way of Mexico.

Angulo, currently training in Los Angeles, recently held his own while sparring with former 154-pound world champion Roman “Made in Hell” Karmazin.  The hard-hitting prospect, who was mentioned in ESPN.com’s Prospects to Watch in 2008, is a former amateur star and a 2004 Olympic representative for Mexico.  In his last fight on ShoBox, Angulo scored two knockdowns en route to a thrilling first-round TKO over Archak Ter Meliksetian.

In the co-feature, current super featherweight and former amateur champion and 2004 United States Olympian Mickey Bey, Jr. (9-0, six KOs) of Cleveland, Ohio will face the talented Edgar Vargas (13-1, 1 KO) of Santa Ana, Calif., in an eight round super featherweight bout.  Gary Shaw Productions, LLC, will present the doubleheader from Grand Casino Hinckley in Hinckley, Minn.
