A few eyebrows were raised when junior middleweight contender Alfredo Angulo no-showed Monday's final press conference to promote this weekend's HBO televised doubleheader at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California. Angulo is apparently upset over the treatment he's received during the promotion. He feels the entire promotion was completely focused on the main event collision between heavyweights Tomasz Adamek and Chris Arreola, and absolutely no attention was given to his co-feature with Joel Julio.

BoxingScene.com reached out to Angulo's promoter, Gary Shaw, to get a better read on what's going on.

"He doesn't feel like he's part of this promotion. HBO promised that Angulo would be a very important part of this promotion, and he's not and and he knows it. They had an initial press conference and he wasn't invited and they had two conference calls and he wasn't invited to participate. He was told that if he gave up his own "Boxing After Dark" to team up with Arreola, it would be like a co-promotion, but instead it's nothing," Shaw told BoxingScene.com.

"Even the posters have Angulo's name [written] very small. Angulo doesn't feel important in this whole thing, so he said to me 'why should I go to the press conference?' They don't need me.' He said only two or three reporters even called him about this fight, so he thinks nobody must know he's fighting."
