After the unexpected withdrawal by former two division champion Ricardo Mayorga, promoter Gary Shaw has struck a deal for junior middleweight prospect Alfredo Angulo (14-0, 11KOs) to face Danny Perez (34-5, 17KOs) on the HBO televised tripleheader from the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida.
Perez has never been stopped and fought Antonio Margarito twice, dropping him in the first bout. He dominated Julio "Babyface" Garcia on last September's undercard to Marquez-Casamayor.
The show will also feature Nate Campbell defending his WBO/IBF lightweight titles against Ali Funeka and Sergio Martinez putting up his WBC interim-junior middleweight title against Kermit Cintron.
