Alfonso Gomez has promised to derail the plans of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on December 4 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. He says a Mexican mega-fight is being planned for the future between Chavez and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. Gomez won't allow Chavez to get there.

He says Chavez is planning to use him as a steppng stone for bigger fights. Gomez is planning to turn the tables on him. Gomez wants to use a win over Chavez to get a title opportunity at welterweight. The fight has a catch-weight of 157-pounds. Chavez is slowly moving back to junior middleweight for a potential fight with WBA champion Miguel Cotto early next year.

"Chavez believes that he has the advantage over me because he's taller and heavier, but what he brings is not enough to win. I'm going to win and ruin their plans. Chavez is the biggest fight of my life," Gomez told Sal Rodriguez.

Gomez will not allow Chavez to weigh a single ounce above their agreed upon weight limit.

"If you train and diet as well, you will make the weight. You can't be lazy, but he is a spoiled child. He was fortunate that his father had the glory, but like everyone else who grows up with money, they become spoiled," Gomez said.
