BoxingScene.com has been advised that an agreement has been reached for a junior welterweight unification between WBC champion Devon Alexander (19-0, 12KOs) and IBF champion Juan Urango (22-2-1, 17KOs). The fight will take place on March 6 and HBO will televise. The venue has not been set but a Las Vegas location is possible.

After a few snags, promoters Don King and Leon Margules of Warriors Boxing finally came to terms for the fight and the contracts will be signed shortly. Alexander defends his title for the first time since stopping Junior Witter in eight rounds in August to pick up the vacant title. Urango's last ring appearance also came in August, and saw him get off the deck to stop Randall Bailey in eleven rounds.
