BoxingScene.com has just been informed that undefeated WBC junior welterweight champion Devon Alexander will be returning to the ring on March 6th in a championship bout televised by HBO. The location is still up in the air as both venues in St. Louis are booked for that date. It looks like Marcos Rene Maidana will be his opponent but the contract isn't signed yet. That date has been set aside for Alexander by HBO.
There is the possibility of the fight being paired with Amir Khan defending his WBA 140-pound title in the co-feature, with the winners of both fights returning for a showdown. Paulie Malignaggi, Nate Campbell and IBF champion Juan Urango are three names being mentioned as possible opponents for Khan.
There is also talk of IBF junior middleweight champion Cory Spinks possibly defending his title on the undercard.
