According to sources, if a proposed bout with Zab Judah falls through, then HBO is looking to match WBC/IBF junior welterweight champion Devon Alexander versus the winner of the March 27th bout between Marcos Maidana and Victor Cayo. HBO is holding a July date for Alexander.
This makes sense because Timothy Bradley is making his HBO debut on June 26 versus welterweight Luis Abregu. Amir Khan is fighting Paulie Malignaggi on May 15th and Victor Ortiz fights Nate Campbell on the same card so the list of possible opponents is limited.
Another thing that isn't clear is if this is a Boxing After Dark fight or a World Championship Boxing event. Being that Khan wanted no part of Maidana and that Judah is a former champion you would think that Alexander (A two divison champion) versus either opponent would be HBO WCB and not a BAD telecast.
