On Saturday in Berlin, Germany, Olympic heavyweight Alexander Povetkin will step in the ring with Nicholas Firtha of America. The fight is part of the Marco Huck-Denis Lebedev undercard. Povetkin has watched video of Firtha and tells Alexander Pavlov that he's confident of being able to outbox his opponent.
"I watched the video of Firtha's fight with Manuel Quezada, Firtha is strong and comes forward and punches well. However, he is not a highly technical boxer. In principle, he's a good fighter," Povetkin said.
Povetkin will be rooting for his countryman Lebedev in the main event. Povetkin and WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck are stablemates under promotional company Sauerland Event.
"I'll be rooting for Denis. In my opinion, Huck is strong, but dirty fighter. Denis is also good, but with a good punch," Povetkin said. "[To avoid a hometown decision], I would like to see Denis knock him out."
