The manager of heavyweight Alexander Povetkin, Wladimir Hryunov, has advised BoxingScene.com that the Russian boxer has already arrived to the United States to start his training camp. The IBF mandatoryt contender will have his next fight on March 13 in Berlin, though the opponent is still unknown. Alexander will spend the first stage of training in the New-York suburbs under his American trainer Teddy Atlas. In a month Povetkin will move to Germany to begin sparring-matches there.
“I’m really happy about the beginning of this year which promises to be very interesting for me," - says Povetkin. “Of course, the most important event this year is the fight for the world title. But now I’m thinking only about my next bout”.
“Sasha is ready for serious fights and I think that he’ll have a decent opponent”, - added Wladimir Hryunov. “At the moment we have stopped all the negotiations with Wladimir Klitschko because we haven’t heard any kind of clear answer from him”.
