Alex “El Cholo” Saucedo, one of Top Rank's top prospects, will realize one of his dreams this Saturday night when he returns home to headline a professional card in his hometown of Meoqui, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Saucedo (18-0, 13 KOs) was born in Mexico, but moved with his family to Oklahoma City when he was six years old and was a top amateur on his way to the Olympics before turning pro three years ago at the age of 17, he is now 20 years old.

“I have a lot of my family still living in Meoqui and ever since I turned pro, I have wanted to fight there in front them and this Saturday I will have that opportunity,” said Saucedo.

Saucedo will take on Edgar “El Nene” Ortega in a 10-round super welterweight bout that will take place in the “Gimnasio Carlos Stege” of Meoqui, a 45-minute drive from the capital of the state of Chihuahua, Mexico’s largest state.

José Zarazúa of Laredo, Texas, a stablemate of Saucedo, will take on Roman Mendez in a six- round super lightweight bout.  And in an amateur bout, Saucedo's cousin, Alexis Martinez, will take on Jaime Saavedra.

Saucedo has been in Chihuahua for almost two weeks promoting the fight and has the local fans in a frenzy as they await the big show.

During his stay in Chihuahua, Saucedo was honored by the mayor of Meoqui, Manuel Duarte Olvias, who gave the young boxer the key to the city.

“I am very happy to be fighting here at home and with the full support of these wonderful people. I am ready to give the fans a great fight and will not disappoint them,” said Saucedo.

After a very successful 2014, where he won his five fights, three by knockout, Saucedo will be fighting for the third time in 2015. On February seventh, at the State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, TX., he stopped Eduardo Flores in the third round and in his most recent bout on
May 30th in Hollywood, Calif., he stopped Jake Guiriceo in the fourth round.
