4-0 (1 early) southpaw Alex Dilmaghani has been withdrawn from this Friday’s Hatton Promotions show due to illness.  The Worthing man caught up with BoxingScene.com to explain the situation.

“I'm freezing,” divulged Dilmaghani.  “When I was in the gym, after four rounds of shadowboxing with a couple of jumpers on I still didn't break a sweat.  I had no energy and was light headed.”

In spite of this, a bullish and headstrong Dilmaghani still wanted to take part on the Matthew Hatton vs. Gianluca Branco/Anthony Small vs. Sam Webb undercard.  “I still refused to pull out of the fight, as I don't want to let anyone down, and I wanted to fight,” he asserted.

“My trainer [Ronnie Davis] pulled me to one side and said he is going to pull me out.  I was initially sad and disappointed because I sacrifice and train hard, but soon recognised it was to be the right decision.”

“Ronnie said to me no fighter should go into the ring not feeling a hundred percent, let alone twenty,” he carried on.  “Apparently, this virus has been going around, and the doctor didn't know how I could train with it.  Hopefully, I'll get better as soon as possible and fight soon!”
