3-0 (0 early) Brighton prospect Alex Dilmaghani signed a three-year deal with Hatton Promotions earlier this year, and with good reason.  His trainer Ronnie Davies holds him in high regard, and in his first three pro fights, he's looked classy, utilising his jab and combinations smartly.  Alex caught up with BoxingScene.com to discuss his future.

In the past, Ronnie Davies has told stories of Dilmaghani sparring with the likes of Henry Castle, who just recently narrowly lost a British title eliminator, so obviously, he has got the quality to hold his own in the pro ranks.

In his last fight, Dilmaghani battled against journeyman Jason Nesbitt (then 7-96-2), who outweighed him by around 8lbs.  Alex, though, didn't let this put him off his gameplan and he posted his best performance to date.  On that one, Dilmaghani quipped: “I was satisfied with the performance.  I was eating comfortably and still weighed eight pounds less, but in the fight, I thought I showed good variety, defence, skills, speed and power.”

Dilmaghani also noted how he feels he is improving with every performance.  “I'm noticing that I get more seasoned with every fight, and I'm my own worst critic, so I can always find something to work on,” revealed Dilmaghani.  “I also study lots of other fighters to see what they do best, and I then insert things into my game."

As his early performances have suggested, the sky is apparently the limit for the southpaw, and he believes being affiliated with Hatton Promotions is doing him the world of good.  “I want an English title at the end of 2010, or the beginning of 2011.  I'm going to go all the way to the top of boxing, and Hatton Promotions are going to be there with me,” beamed Alex.

As a concluding message, Dilmaghani just had this to put out there: “I'd like to say that I appreciate everyone's support, and I wish all my fans a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.”
