Alex 'El Pollo' De Jesus, who is serving a four-year sentence for domestic violence, is confident that his good behavior will allow him to make parole in 2012 to resume his derailed boxing career and win a world crown.

“That's my goal but in the meantime I will keep fighting and hope to be active by March. My goal is to get out and be world champion," said De Jesus from a Penitentiary in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.

De Jesus, 27, is 20-1 with 13 knockouts and the single loss was by way of a controversial defeat in Argentina.

"Being here in prison has helped me grow as a person, to clarify my feelings and trust in myself. In the prison every day you learn and mature. I am 27 years old and I'm sure I can achieve my goal," De Jesus said.
