It's been reported that unbeaten junior welterweight prospect Alex de Jesus (19-0, 13KOs) aka "El Pollo" was arrested in Puerto Rico on charges of domestic abuse and a weapons violation. Jesus is being held at a regional jail in Bayamon until he sees a judge or can make the $60,000 bail.

De Jesus has had a string of issues during his career with injuries, battling with weight and problems with the law. Ivan Rivera of Puerto Rico Best Boxing is hoping the latest problem can be resolved so De Jesus can get back to work.

"I expect the situation to be resolved as soon as possible. Alex is a very talented boy and we have big plans with him for this in 2009. It's a sad situation. An opportunity came about for a fight against Kendall Holt (junior welterweight junior champion of the WBO), but he was not training", said Rivera to El Nuevo Dia. "We have to continue supporting him. I have to speak with him. We trust in God that he can manage to set his life right."
