Sean Connery's James Bond used to be the Scotsman Russians loved to hate - but now Alex Arthur is public enemy number one.

The sharp-shooting Edinburgh super-featherweight has already beaten four of Russia's finest - and is planning on making it five out of five when he takes on 28-year-old Alexander Hrulev in Liverpool on March 10.

Arthur will challenge for the Vacant WBO Intercontinental title as he looks to keep busy ahead of a world title fight later this year.

The former European, Commonwealth and British 130-pound champion is highly rated by all four world governing bodies, and promoter Frank Warren is looking at getting him a crack at one of the belts at some point in 2007.

For the time being Arthur, 24-1 (18), keeps busy against a dangerous opponent, who has only lost one of his 16 fights, and has never been stopped.

But with wins already over Nikolai Eremeev, Alexey Slyauchin, Dmitry Gorodetsky and Boris Sinitsin - plus victory over six other Eastern Europeans - Arthur is confident of piling more misery on the Russians.

"I guess I'm used to their style now!" said Arthur, whose fight will be shown on ITV.

"I've had some good wins against Russians in the past, but you can never take anything for granted against these guys because boxing is their way to a better life.

"They always come into the ring and give 100%, and I know Hrulev will put me under a lot of pressure.

"When I beat him I don't think I'll be going to Moscow for my holidays!"

The 28-year-old also says that he is looking forward to a world title shot in the near future.

"It's been a long time coming, but I have to be patient because I'm in such a competitive division," said Arthur.

"I don't think there is a stronger division in boxing, but it means when I do win a world title no one will be able to say that I've taken short cuts."

Arthur is joined on a massive Olympia card by French star Souleymane M'baye, who defends his WBA World Light-Welterweight title against Andreas Kotelnik, WBU World Featherweight champion Derry Matthews and Paul Smith.
