Tijuana, BC - Motivated by his main event role next Saturday night in Tijuana, Alejandro Lopez is holding strenuous training sessions, working hard for speed and accuracy. "Alex" Lopez (22-2-0, 7 KOs) is scheduled for a ten round fight against Colombian super bantamweight Jose Palma (15-4-2, 10 KOs), as Zanfer Promotions opens up its 2012 season on the 14th of January at the Municipal Auditorium. The fight will be broadcast by TV Azteca.

"I feel very good, strong and fast, ready to step into the ring and very excited that the function is here in Tijuana - where I hope to achieve an important victory. I hope that it brings us closer to a world championship fight," said Lopez

Lopez has put in some work with Christopher Martin of California, who fights a day earlier -  on Friday the 13th - against Teon Kennedy, who Lopez defeated last August to become the NABA super bantamweight champion.

"Martin helped me a lot, he's a strong fighter who moves well and has very good technique. We had a great sparring session. I'm ready with the proper condition and I'll be at the proper weight for Saturday the 14th,' Lopez said.
