BoxingScene.com has been informed by boxing adviser Greg Leon that talks are underway to match his fighter, former junior middleweight champion Joachim Alcine (33-2-1), against undefeated prospect Kevin Bizier (17-0), on the undercard of a proposed light heavyweight clash between Tavoris Cloud and Jean Pascal - which is close to a deal with a possible June, July date.
Cloud-Pascal will be televised on Showtime Championship Boxing in the United States and distributed via pay-per-view in Canada, where Pascal is a huge draw. Alcine-Bizier will be part of the Canadian pay-per-view undercard, if Pascal-Cloud is finalized.
Alcine resurrected his career when he defeated then hot prospect David Lemieux this past December. Leon said that Alcine is yearning to get back in the ring and is willing to take on all comers.
"During our many discussions Yvon Michel (of Gym Promotions) told me he would make Kevin Bizier vs Joachim Alcine," stated Leon. " Because my former champion will fight anybody from (1)47 to (1)60, Joachim quickly accepted the bout. Hopefully Bizier accepts the fight and Yvon and I can finalize the deal. Alcine is so hungry right now that I genuinely feel bad for whoever he fights next," Leon continued.
Bizier last fought in December when he went 12 rounds for the first time in a unanimous decision victory over veteran Lanardo Tyner.
