Filipino minimum weight Ricardo Albia has been knocked out in the fifth round of a scheduled ten round bout by Thailand’s Kaichon Sor Vorapin who is slated to fight Hugo Cazares for the WBO light flyweight title on October 29 in the U.S.
It was Albia’s fourth straight defeat this year and added to the growing list of Filipino boxers who are over-matched against superior Thai opponents and invariably get mauled.
Kaichon Sor Vorapin is the reigning WBA Asia Pacific champion having won the vacant title via a sixth round KO over Rocky Fuentes on October 28 last year.
He defended the title successfully against another Filipino, Along Denoy, with a sixth round technical decision victory last July 8.
