At the Convention Center in Atlapa, Panama City, a battle of undefeated up and coming 140-pound boxers saw Panamanian star Alberto "Machine Gun" Mosquera (16-0, 12KOs), ranked at #3 in the junior welterweight ranks of the WBA, dominate his Nicaraguan opponent Cristian Ruiz (15-1, 11KOs) for an eleven round decision. The score of 110-99 was on all three cards. Mosquera retains the WBA's Fedelatin light welterweight title and the win will move him closer to a shot.
In other action, lightweight Ameth Diaz knocked out Eric Castro in four rounds.
In his first fight since the loss to Jonathan Barros, featherweight Irving Berry (19-2, 9KOs) got off the floor in the first round to win an eight round majority decision over Julio Camano (8-4). Camano was penalized a point in the fourth round. The scores were 75-75, 76-74 and 78-72.
