BoxingScene.com has been advised that welterweight prospect Alan Sanchez, fresh off the biggest win of his career, will headline a TeleFutura card on August 25 in his hometown of Fairfield, Calif.

In April on ESPN2’s Friday Night Fights, the 21-year-old Sanchez (10-2-1, 4 KOs) scored a first-round stoppage of Artemio Reyes Jr., who courageously decided to fight despite losing his father only a week before the bout.  The win was regardless impressive for Sanchez, who will now meet an opponent to be determined at the Fairfield Sports Center.

The co-feature will see the return of junior featherweight Manuel “Tino” Avila (7-0, 2 KOs), a Golden Boy prospect who pulled out of a fight in May after getting into a car accident.  Also a Fairfield native, the 20-year-old Avila has since recovered and is also rumored to see action on the July 28 Robert Guerrero-Selcuk Aydin show in nearby San Jose.  His foes in both contests have yet to be named.

A pair of 23-year-old Northern California prospects, middleweight Paul Mendez (7-2-1, 2 KOs) of Walnut Creek and San Francisco junior welterweight Jonathan Chicas (5-0, 3 KOs), also figure to make appearances on the undercard.

The event will be promoted by Golden Boy in association with Don Chargin, Paco Presents, and Jorge Marron.
