Zachariah Delgado / Matchroom BoxingArgentina’s Alan Chaves made his first fight on foreign soil a memorable one Saturday at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, knocking out Miguel Madueno in three rounds.
The time of the stoppage was 1:26 in the third.
A lightweight southpaw from San Miguel, Buenos Aires, and a recent Matchroom Boxing signee, Chaves made short work of a game veteran, landing a straight left hand that left the 27-year-old Madueno motionless on the canvas.
Chaves improved to 22-0 (19 KOs), while Madueno fell to 31-5 (28 KOs).
Chaves has now stopped each of his past five opponents, while Madueno has lost all three of his previous fights.

Earlier on the undercard of the Jarrell Miller-Lenier Pero headliner, junior middleweight Damian Sosa upset Freudis Rojas, winning a 10-round unanimous decision. The scores were all 96-93 in Sosa’s favor.
Sosa dropped Rojas with a body shot in the sixth round, which was the most consequential bit of action in the fight.
Sosa, of Tijuana, Mexico, improved to 27-3 (13 KOs), while Rojas suffered his first loss, slipping to 15-1 (11 KOs).
In the opening bout, Junior middleweight Nishant Dev, 5-0 (3 KOs), picked up a second-round knockout over Juan Carlos Guerra Jnr. The time of stoppage was 2:57.
Dev, a 25-year-old from Kamal, India, moved to 6-0 (4 KOs), while Guerra dropped to 6-3-1 (2 KOs).
