Ahmad Kaddour (22-2-1, 9 KOs) will make his TV2 Fight Night debut on February 12, taking on Great Britain´s Lee Noble (12-15, 3 KOs) in Herning. The 29-year-old light middleweight is looking forward to what will only be his fifth fight on Danish soil. “I am thrilled to be fighting in Herning and have the backing of my Danish fans,” Khaddour said. “I have trained and fought all over the world, always being the underdog going up against the home kid. That has really toughened me up. Fighting in front of my countrymen will be great and I will put on a special show. I will make my opponent feel very sorry for coming to Denmark. Everything I throw at him will hurt.”

 

Kaddour, who has come to international fame following his appearance on the TV series “The Contender”, claims he has left Hollywood behind him and is now fully focusing on boxing. “I finally woke up,” he said. “There will be a different person in the ring in Herning than the one that was in Hollywood. I have realized that boxing is hard work day in and day out. I had a great amateur career but wasted my talent in the States. Now I am back with my old coach Brian Mathiasen. That´s the best thing that has ever happened to me. He knows how to train and how to push me. Together we can accomplish big goals.”

 

Mathiasen has been putting Kaddour - as well as Kim Poulsen, who will also be in action in Herning – though tough work-out sessions in his gym in Aarhus. “It´s good to be working with Ahmad again,” Mathiasen said. “He is so talented. He has learned a lot of lessons in the past and I can see that he is determined to make the sacrifices it takes to be successful in boxing. Right now he probably hates me because the training was so tough but I just keep reminding him that the more you sweat in practice, the less you bleed in battle. The fight in Herning will be huge for him. I told him that this is his last chance, it´s make-or-break. He needs to beat Noble, and I am sure he will.”

 

Promoter Nisse Sauerland believes Kaddour´s TV2 Fight Night preview will be a successful one. “It´s great to have him fight in Herning,” he said. “Ahmad got the talent and the charisma to be something special. With all the skills and power he got, he should not be best-known for a TV series but for his accomplishments inside the ring. It´s not too late for him. He can still do it and become a champion. Ahmad´s road to real ring glory begins on February 12.”
