David Benavidez has no shortage of HUGE fights on his radar. In an exclusive interview with BoxingScene, Jose Benavidez Sr. makes it clear that David still wants the biggest names at 175lbs including Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev. Benavidez has previously said those are two fights he wants to make as he pursues more titles and major challenges. But there’s another name that could make things very interesting: Andy Ruiz Jr. Jose discusses the possibility of an all-Mexican showdown between Benavidez and the former heavyweight champion, along with David’s plans across multiple divisions. And with a potential Jai Opetaia showdown also building after the pair came face-to-face following Opetaia’s latest victory, Benavidez has some massive options ahead.

Casino de Monte Carlo Salle Medecin, Monte Carlo - Agit Kabayel (17-0, 12 KOs) picked up the biggest win of his pro career with a twelve round majority decision over Dereck Chisora (27-8, 19 KOs) to retain the EBU heavyweight title. The scores were 114-114, 115-113 and 115-114 for Kabayel.
This was the second fight of the year for Kabayel, after winning a twelve round decision over Herve Hubeaux back in February to capture the vacant EBU crown.
For Chisora, it was his second fight since losing a close, and some felt controversial, twelve round split decision to his domestic rival Dillian Whyte back in December of 2016.
Kabayel started off with some hooks to the body, as Chisora was in his usual mode of stalking and looking for big punches. Not much was landing for Chisora in the early going, as Kabayel was landing well with his shots.
Things were heating up in the third round as Chisora began to work his way into the fight with landed shots of his own. Kabayel continued to do well, pumping a double-jab, moving very well and landing good counters on the veteran.
Chisora looked very tired by the midway point of the fight. He was unable to get his punches going or land anything really of note, as Kabayel continued to stay calm and box, round by round. Chisora was unable to deal with the movement of his opponent. Kabayel was pumping the jab, landing good counters when Chisora would attempt to step inside and never allowed himself to get hit with too many punches.
Chisora was trying to change the fight in the eleventh round, by pressing forward a lot more and letting his hands go. He was starting to do better, backing up the champion and landing some punches. Kabayel seemed to take a round off as Chisora was looking to do some damage.
They were trading punches at the start of the twelfth round. Kabayel was giving as good as he was getting. The crowd was on their feet, cheering Kabayel on, as Chisora was raining down the punches and looking for a game-changing punches - but Kabayel was also landing some solid shots that were clocking Chisora flush.
