On November 28th in Quebec, Adrian Granados (17-4-2, 12KOs) was brought in as a stay-busy opponent for the highly regarded and undefeated Amir Imam. But the rugged Granados pulled the upset by stopping Imam (who was then ranked number one at junior welterweight by the WBC) in eight rounds.

There were talks of Granados facing Ruslan Provodnikov in his Showtime debut but that deal never materialized. So as it stands the native of Chicago has not fought in about seven months. So what lies ahead for 'Tigre'?

"We're in the midst of discussions right now to get him a fight within the next couple of weeks. He should be in the ring by July," said Andy Zak, who manages Granados. "But nothing is for sure in this business, we know that until the names on the contract nothing's done - and even then it can fall out.

"But I think it's going to happen and we're going to have a big fight, whether it's going to be against Mr. (John) Molina or even Ricky Burns."

Molina, recently decisioned Provodnikov at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, New  York, while Burns captured the WBA 140-title on May 28th by halting Michele DiRocco in eight.

Zak promises,"We will be busy and we will be fighting again before the end of the year in a big fight, if not two more times, whether that's for the world title - that's up in the air. We've already been in discussions with Molina. Right now we're just focused on the smaller fight."
