Back from Las Vegas, promoter Yvon Michel could barely hide his enthusiasm when he spoke to BoxingScene.com. On Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, super middleweight Adonis Stevenson (15-1-0, 12 KOs) of Longueuil did not miss his chance to shine.

"Adonis was beyond all expectations," said the Montreal promoter. "The people at HBO saw him as an opponent for Dion Savage. When they saw Savage down so early in the fight, their eyes opened really wide."

Stevenson actually needed less than two minutes to score a TKO on Dion Savage (11-2-0, 6 KOs), a protégé of Floyd Mayweather Jr., who knocked out Victor Ortiz in the main event of the card.

Yvon Michel confirmed to BoxingScene that Stevenson will return to the ring on the 15th of October at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where Bernard Hopkins will face Chad Dawson in the main event.

"We decided right after the fight. It was very clear in the minds of everyone. Adonis has attracted the attention of several American journalists and we want to continue on this path. "
