As reported last Friday on BoxingScene.com, super middleweight contender Anthony Dirrell was involved in a motorcycle accident and suffered injuries that will keep him out of the ring for six months.

Prior to the accident, the WBC ordered Dirrell (24-0, 21KOs) to face Nikola Sjekloca (24-0, 7KOs) for the vacant WBC super middleweight world championship.

With Dirrell out, the WBC is likely to appoint another boxer to face Sjekloca.

Stevenson, without a scheduled fight, is stationed at number #3 in the WBC's rankings. There is already talk that Stevenson's promoter, Yvon Michel, is going to inquire about Stevenson being approved for the title fight.
