WBC and RING Magazine light heavyweight champion Adonis "Superman" Stevenson said that he understands why undefeated WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey "Krusher" Kovalev is pushing so hard for a unification fight. He said that it comes down to simple economics. Stevenson said that Kovalev knows that the only way for him to get a big payday is by facing the number one fighter in the division.

In a recent article on BoxingScene.com, Stevenson revealed that he would face Kovalev at some point this year. The Haitian said that he has the style and strategy needed to defeat any fighter.

"I am in the the top spot. I am number one and he knows if he fights me he is going to make good money. I am the the light heavyweight millionaire so of course he wants to fight. I don't care what he thinks. I go in the ring and I do my job. I have a game plan for any fighter. Any fighter out there I have a game plan for. I am not worried about him,"  Stevenson stated.

Stevenson is equally proud of the work he gad done outside of the ring as he is his in ring accomplishments that include winning BoxingScene.com's 2013 Fighter of the Year award.

"I am an ambassador in Haiti and Quebec City   I am helping the young people in Quebec City. Not just Haitians but everybody who needs help. I just want to make my contribution and I am proud of that. I want to thank BoxingScene, HBO, the late Emmanuel Stewart, (Javan) Sugar Hill, and Yvon Michel. 2014 will be another big year for me," Stevenson told BoxingScene.com.
