WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (21-1, 18KOs) would have liked to get a unification with IBF champion Bernard Hopkins, but the veteran was ordered on Monday to face mandatory challenger Sergey Kovalev. Stevenson's promoter, Yvon Michel, is looking at former champion Tavoris Cloud (24-1, 19KOs), out of the ring since the March decision loss to Hopkins, as a potential first defense. The networks are interested in this fight

"I have no problem facing Cloud, but right now this is nothing more than talk. I'll wait to see the developments. Right now, Yvon Michel is the United States in talks with the heads of HBO and Showtime. We will have more details later in the week," Stevenson told TVA Sports.
