The massacre list of Filipino boxers in Thailand has seen an addition of two more victims bringing to 14 the number of fighters who have been badly beaten in the last two weeks in Thailand with 12 suffering knockouts and 2 by lopsided unanimous decisions.
 
In the latest mismatch Jaime Barcelona who has a record of 20 wins as against 26 defeats with 1 draw and six knockouts to his name was knocked out in a battle for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific featherweight title by Thai champion Terdsak Jandaeng who has only one defeat with 19 wins, 14 coming by way of knockouts. The end came at 0:57 seconds of the ninth round. Terdsak is ranked No. 7 in the world by the WBO.
 
The Thai southpaw suffered his only setback at the hands of undefeated sensation Joan Guzman last August 26. Guzman who has a record of 24-0 with 17 knockouts has been considered a possible challenger to Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao in the future. It was Barcelona’s third defeat against only one win so far this year.
 
A report from Bangkok said Barcelona who is ranked No.1 by the Games and musements Board was dropped no less than three times by Terdsak in rounds two, four and nine.
The other Filipino boxer who was beaten was Edwin Gastador who was knocked out in the third round of a six round bout against Thai newcomer Nungpichit Sithyodthong who is undefeated in three bouts with 2 knockouts. Gastador’s record was reported to be 12-27-5 with 4 KO’s.
