Former two division champion Tomsaz Adamek admits that he fought Vitali Klitschko too soon and needed more time to become a solid heavyweight. Adamek (44-2, 28KOs) challenged Vitali Klitschko for the WBC heavyweight title in September, but saw himself dominated and stopped in the tenth round. Adamek plans to fight three times in 2012. He won't target another shot at the world crown until 2013 at the earliest.
"I made a mistake. Two years of boxing in the heavyweight division is not enough time to overcome Klitschko. Also, I flew into Poland too later [for the Klitschko fight] and had no time to acclimatize. In the ring I was not himself. I won't make this mistake again. After this defeat, I have to rebuild. I don't want to fight for the title no earlier than 2013," Adamek said.
Adamek is looking to return in March in the United States and then wants to stage a fight in Poland in the summer.
