During a conference call with the press on Tuesday, heavyweight contender Tomasz Adamek made it known - he is targeting every champion in his division. He wants to fight either WBA champion David Haye or one of the Klitschko brothers, WBO/IBO/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko or WBC champion Vitali Klitschko.
Adamek's promoter, Kathy Duva of Main Events, said HBO is interested in Adamek fighting David Haye - if Haye is unable to reach an agreement with Klitschko. Duva says Adamek wants to fight again in either late summer or early fall. The Polish puncher likes his chances against Haye. He thinks his accurate punching and speed will overcome Haye's power.
“I am ready for everybody,” Adamek said. “I am positive if the fight against David Haye comes to fruition, two things, speed and my precision will prevail,” Adamek said through his interpreter. “So this will be a very interesting fight. You shouldn’t worry about how the fight will look. It will be a very exciting fight.”
WBC champion Vitali Klitschko defends against Albert Sosnowki on May 29. Vitali is a heavy favorite. If Wladimir and Haye reach a deal, older brother Vitali will be available to fight Adamek in the fall.
