Adam Etches went 2-0 (2) during his debut year, knocking out Lester Walsh, in two, and Ian Jackson, in one, and ‘The Bomber’ hopes to explode onto the domestic division by going for an area title in 2011.

“If I keep knocking out opponents it might get harder for [Hatton Promotion’s Director of Boxing] Richard Poxon to make matches for me.  I can't believe how much I am enjoying boxing professionally, especially fighting on such big cards,” enthused Etches when speaking to The Sheffield Star.

“I only had 30 amateur fights and stopped 15 of my opponents which is a good ratio considering you have to wear a head guard so I always knew I carried a dig.  In 2011, I want fans around the country to start hearing about me and realising what potential I have got.  In the next 12 months I like to think there is a Central Area title within my grasp.”

Etches will sketch the next story of his pro career when he features on Hatton Promotion’s February 26 Bolton Arena promotion – Stephen Foster Junior’s maiden defence of the EBU super-feather title headlines the show.

Poxon became Hatton Promotion’s Director of Boxing earlier this year; the matchmaker will use his experience and nous to ensure that Sheffield’s latest light-middleweight hopeful is moved correctly during the coming years.
