The scheduled junior welterweight bout between Adam Azim and Gustavo Lemos has been postponed after both fighters suffered hand injuries. The Boxxer-promoted showdown was supposed to take place on Saturday January 31 at London, England's Copper Box Arena.
Lemos, 30-2 (20 KOs), is believed to have suffered his injury first and, with efforts being made to find a suitable replacement, Azim endured a problem in his hand during a final sparring session. It represents a blow to both Azim, who could have secured a mandatory ranking with the IBF in victory, and his promoters Boxxer, who were looking start their 2026 campaign with new broadcaster partner, the BBC.
Azim, 14-0 (11 KOs), last fought in November when he halted the plucky Kurt Scoby in the 12th and final round on the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium undercard of Conor Benn-Chris Eubank Jnr rematch.
For now it is unknown if the rest of the bill, which was to feature Francesca Hennessy, Gradus Kraus and Archie Sharp, will still go ahead.
