Las Vegas - After spending a few days in Las Vegas and training at the Top Rank Gym, WBA lightweight champion Miguel Acosta is very confident of retaining his title this Saturday. He faces undefeated Brandon "Bam Bam" Rios in a Showtime televised fight from the Palms Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
"I am calm and it feels great to hold my belt. It's my first title defense and I feel fine. I'm pleased with my preparation physical and mentally. We worked hard. We know that we are going to win. When he signed the contract, he already lost his unbeaten record," Acosta said. "He can have all of the advantages of home, but in the ring it's only me and him."
Acosta ended the unbeaten streaks of Urbano Antillón and Paulus Moses.
