According to Supersport Zone, Acelino Freitas, who announced his retirement last month, is willing to come back to the sport to challenge WBC lightweight champion Joel Casamayor in a unification bout to take place in Brazil.
Freitas was told by the WBO that he has until Monday to make up his mind if he is going to retire and vacate his lightweight title.
The two men previously met in a Las Vegas unification bout that took place in 2002. Freitas won the contest by way of a unanimous decision that many observers felt should have gone to Casamayor.
