Moments after knocking out Elvin Ayala in Kiel, Germany, IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham (26-0, 21KOs) called for a unification showdown with WBC/WBO champ Kelly Pavlik (33-0, 29KOs), and he's willing to the leave his backyard to make the fight in the United States.
“I always believe in my knockout,” Abraham said. “But first you have to control the fight, then the knockout comes from itself. I want to fight in the United States. My goal is to fight Kelly Pavlik.”
Abraham has been mentioned as the possible year-end opponent for Pavlik. He's tentatively scheduled to appear on the undercard to Pavlik's title defense against Gary Lockett on June 7.
