Unbeaten featherweight Abraham Lopez will headline the next 'LA Fight Club' card on August 6, Golden Boy Promotions announced Friday afternoon.
Lopez will fight Jorge Diaz in a 10 round bout at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles, Calif. The bout will headline a Golden Boy Promotions card and will be televised live on Fox Sports Deportes.
Lopez (18-0-1, 13 KOs) returned from a three-year hiatus on March 20, fighting to an eight round majority decision draw against Juan Carlos Martinez.
In his last bout on May 22, Lopez knocked out Alfred Tetteh in the fifth round in Indio, Calif.
Diaz (18-3-1, 10 KOs) has not fought since October 24, when he fought to a six round split decision draw against Jose Haro in Somerset, N.J. He has only one once in his last four bouts.
The Lopez-Diaz fight replaces the Julian Ramirez-Hugo Partida fight when Ramirez withdrew from the fight after suffering an illness.
In the co-feature bout, Roy Tapia (10-0-2, 5 KOs) will fight Juan Hernandez (18-5-1, 9 KOs) in an eight round bout.
Junior lightweight Hector Tanajara of San Antonio and lightweight Jonathan Navarro of East Los Angeles will make their professional debuts in separate bouts to open the Fox Sports Deportes telecast.
