Former middleweight champion Arthur Abraham, 31-years-old, just signed a new promotional contract with Sauerland Event. He says the contract expires in 2014. The end of the contract will likely signal the end of his career. Abraham will return on January 14th against Pablo Farias in Offenburg.
After an unpleasant run at super middleweight, Abraham is slowly getting back to 160-pounds, where he plans to win a title by the end of 2012.
"I feel very comfortable in Berlin and I have a very good relationship with manager Wilfried Sauerland. I owe him a lot. I want to be a world champion by the end of 2012. And to have the battle at Berlin's O2 World. These are my goals for the coming year. I think this will be my final contract as a professional boxer. I will remain in the sport doing management work," Abraham said to Oleg Samerovik.
