Junior welterweight Abel Ramos stopped Juan Jesus Rivera after the sixth round late Friday night at the Legends Event Center in Phoenix, Ariz.

Ramos improves to 17-1-2, 12 KOs, while Rivera drops to 28-15, 18 KOs.

Ramos, who resides in the Phoenix area, dominated the entire fight, breaking Rivera down with each passing round. Rivera did not answer the seventh round, choosing to remain on his stool.

The victory on Friday was Ramos' third win in a row since suffering his only defeat as a pro at the hands of Regis Prograis on December 11.

Manager Andrew Zak is looking to have Ramos fight again before the end of 2016.

In the co-main event, super middleweight Andrew Hernandez scored a vicious knockout over Jorge Silva (21-12-2, 17 KOs).

Hernandez (14-4-1, 5 KOs), who has now won his last four bouts, scored an upset win over Arif Magomedov on May 21.
