Heavyweight: Deontay Wilder found a way to win against journeyman Arthur Szpilka but it was an ugly, awkward outing from the start against his third straight non-contender. Compared to Luis Ortiz’s performance against contender Bryant Jennings, it was enough to see Wilder and Ortiz to switch places in the top ten. Czar Glazkov exits the ratings after a passive start and injured end against Charles Martin, who sneaks in at the bottom of the top ten.
Cruiserweight: After some editorial discussion, the not quite official retirement of Yoan Pablo Hernandez and continued inactivity have us joining others as presuming him done. He is removed as champion.
Welterweight: Danny Garcia stays put as his win over Robert Guerrero was tougher than Keith Thurman’s last year. Sammy Vasquez enters the ratings as Aron Martinez and Guerrero exit. Errol Spence debuts in the top ten. Expect lots of shake ups in the division this year.
