(COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.) – 2010 USA Boxing National Championships action moved into day two on Tuesday at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. Male and female boxers took the ring in eight different weight divisions on Tuesday with all of the competitors looking to advance to Wednesday’s quarterfinal action.
The day’s action featured the event debut of two-time Olympian and 2007 World Champion Rau’shee Warren (Cincinnati, Ohio) as he competed at the new 114-pound weight division. Warren needed only 56 seconds to claim a first round stoppage over David Sandoval (Tacoma, Wash.). He will take on Gary Antonio Russell (Capitol Heights, Md.), the younger brother of his 2008 Olympic teammate Gary Russell, Jr., in tonight’s competition.
