The campaign for a bout between IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and four-time heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield. According to the Guardian Unlimited, Klitschko has been offered $20 million dollars by Holyfield's promoter Murad Muhammad to face the 44-year-old ex-champion.
Holyfield and Klitschko both saw action in the last few days. Holyfield scored a unanimous decision over ranked contender Fres Oquendo at the Alamodome in Texas on Friday. The following day in New York's Madison Square Garden, Klitschko knocked out previously undefeated Calvin Brock in seven rounds.
Fellow BoxingScene scribe Sammy Rozenberg spoke about the prospect of a Klitschko-Holyfield clash in his latest article, noting that Holyfield brings more money, press and notoriety to the table than any other active heavyweight.
While Klitschko wants to unify the division and recently targeted a bout with WBA heavyweight champ Nikolai Valuev, the offer from Muhammad will be hard for Klitschko to turn down.
