Chris Arreola and Paul Williams, two boxers on the comeback trail for vastly different reasons, are still exploring possible opponents and dates to close out the year, according to matchmaker Tom Brown of Goossen-Tutor Promotions.

The plan is to get Arreola back in the ring in either “October or November” and possibly on the undercard of the Super Six championship on October 29 between Andre Ward and Carl Froch at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, Brown said. Arreola (33-2, 28 knockouts) has won five straight since losing a majority decision to Tomasz Adamek in April of last year and has appeared noticeably thinner in his recent fights.

As for Williams, who was knocked out last year by Sergio Martinez and looked lethargic in a controversial win against Erislandy Lara in July, Brown is hoping to find him a date before the end of the year but thinks a more likely scenario involves Williams fighting at the beginning of next year.

Regarding other fighters under the Goossen-Tutor promotional banner, undefeated WBA super bantamweight champ, Rico Ramos, will probably see action in either “November or December,” Brown said, though no opponent or venue has been decided.

The undefeated 2008 U.S. Olympian, Shawn Estrada (13-0, 12 knockouts) is scheduled to face Zane Marks (17-6) on Sept. 15 on an ESPN Deportes show in El Paso, Texas.

Estrada, a super middleweight, also has a planned appearance on an Oct. 28 show at Bally’s in Atlantic City on the undercard of an IBF heavyweight title eliminator between Tony Thompson and Eddie Chambers, according to Brown.
