Exacting fitness coach Alex Ariza, who works with Marcos "Chino" Maidana and is meticulously preparing him to fight Floyd Mayweather on May 3rd, boldly predicts he'll spring an almighty surprise to end that hallowed undefeated status of the pound for pound genius and and conquer the WBC welterweight title.

Ariza has an appreciable history in boxing as a trainer. For a long spell he worked with Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao.

"Maidana is a very dedicated fighter. He's very responsible, so I trust him. Right now we are working on his speed, to get faster access to [throw punches in] his contest against Mayweather and it is best that we are now working with enough time to get him ready for May 3rd” Ariza stated.

Ariza said that the most important factor for a fighter is peak physical condition. He insists there's nothing more important than reaching the fight ready for twelve grueling rounds. A clear example of this can be seen in Maidana's triumph against Adrien Broner.
