Andre Ward: record, next fight and profile →
Andre Ward hasn’t lost a fight since he was a teenager competing in the amateur ranks. He won a gold medal in the Olympics, was the true world champion at super middleweight, and is now, at 32 years old, a fighter whose record is 30-0 with 15 knockouts.
Sergey Kovalev (30-0, 26KOs) thinks highly of Andre Ward (30-0, 15KOs), but he hadn’t thought about him that often before the past year.
Light heavyweight contender Andre Ward (30-0, 15KOs) won't deny it, before leaving the super middleweight division he was really hoping to get the opportunity to fight WBA/IBO/IBF/WBC middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs).
Sergey Kovalev and Andre Ward each had tune-up fights ahead of their Nov. 19 pay-per-view. Wile Andre Ward had an easy night winning a unanimous decision over an undersized, unheralded Alexander Brand in August, Sergey Kovalev struggled a bit while winning on the scorecards over contender Isaac Chilemba.
Light heavyweight contender Andre Ward (30-0, 15KOs) is getting ready for one of the most anticipated fights of the year, when he challenges IBF/WBO/WBA light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (30-0, 26KOs) on November 19th.
The fact that Manny Pacquiao’s next fight will be airing without HBO’s backing — the first time since Pacquiao fought Shane Mosley in May 2011 on a pay-per-view distributed by Showtime — has a lot to do with the fight that follows it two weeks later.
