WBC/WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward (26-0, 14KOs), who returns on January 26th against Kelly Pavlik, is open to the idea of a rematch with Carl Froch (30-2, 22KOs), the current IBF beltholder at 168-pounds. Ward beat Froch in 2011 in the final fight of the Super Six super middleweight tournament in Atlantic City.

Froch is contractually bound to a rematch with Lucian Bute on a March/April date in Montreal. Froch promises a different fight if he lands a rematch with Ward, who also expects a different tempo in a second bout.

"He (Froch) seems to think he got a raw deal or the fight was closer than it really was, so why not give him another opportunity?" Ward told BBC Sport. "Carl put up a good fight but the fight was not as close as he's saying it was. But I also went in there injured with a broken hand and he has to understand that fully healthy it's going to be a totally different fight."
