Former super middleweight champion Carl Froch is shaking his head at the idea of a fight between rising welterweight contender Conor Benn and domestic veteran Amir Khan.

Promoter Ben Shalom of Boxxer believes a welterweight scrap between Amir Khan and Florian Marku is a fight that makes sense for both parties.

At the Utilita Arena in Newcastle, ‘The Albanian King’ Florian Marku (11-0-1, 7 KOs) successfully defended his IBF International welterweight title in his toughest test to date against the former British and Commonwealth titlist Chris Jenkins (23-5-3, 8 KOs).

Promoter Ben Shalom of Boxxer is still working out the details to finalize a domestic showdown between former world champion Kell Brook and middleweight contender Chris Eubank Jr.

Welterweight contender Conor Benn is very willing to face a former world champion in a big domestic showdown, but says his two of his targets - Kell Brook and Amir Khan - are demanding way too much money.

Promoter Ben Shalom has made it clear that Amir Khan must first "prove he's not finished" before considering a rematch against Kell Brook. Last month, Brook and Khan finally met in the ring after a decade long rivalry.

Brook had good reason to sound confident. Their 12-round welterweight bout (contracted at 149 pounds) in February, billed as a coin-flip affair between two of the bigger names in recent British boxing memory, was lopsided in favor of Brook (40-3, 28 KOs), who stopped Khan (34-6, 21 KOs) in the sixth round.

Eddie Hearn, promoter for rising welterweight Conor Benn, has revealed that former world champion Kell Brook is requesting at least £10 million for a fight with the unbeaten contender.

If Amir Khan truly wants a rematch with Kell Brook, he may have to take a tune-up first in order to get it. Khan, the former junior welterweight titleholder from Bolton, England, has reportedly been itching to trigger his immediate rematch clause linked to his ballyhooed welterweight match against Brook last February, which saw Sheffield’s Brook dominate and stop Khan in the sixth round.

Amir Khan appears to have no intention of calling it a career, according to his promoter Ben Shalom. Khan, the former junior welterweight titlist, seemed to have one foot out of the ring following his sixth-round stoppage loss to long-sworn rival Kell Brook on Feb. 19
